ActionAid considers education and lifelong learning as key tools in addressing poverty and injustice and as such invests in education so as to nurture active citizens capable of striving for a fairer world for all. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the project Financial Literacy in Cyprus and to promote financial education in both primary and secondary educational institutions as well as to link it to active citizenship through teacher training.
The Senior School already is a pioneer in embedding Financial Literacy into our curriculum in the 6th Form but we hope to be able to collaborate with ActionAid Hellas to not only develop own resources and training in the field but also to work towards developing programmes in younger age groups.
